Adventures with the government: Part 2

I believe BT has been made private but since they are the only company that can give you a phone line they are, in my mind, part of the government.

A month and a week ago i called BT, who are the only one to get a phone line from, to set up a phone line for the flat so we can get broadband. We haven't been connected. I called three weeks ago and they said it was delayed by a week. I called today

Bt guy: Hello and Welcome to the BT. How many may i help you.
Me: Hi, yeah i called more then a month ago to set up a phone line and it has been set up yet
Bt: Ok can i have you order number, account number, and phone number. [All of which is something like 12 numbers and between my accent and his not understanding my accent, it took 3 minutes to go through this]
Bt guy: Yes i see it's been delayed
Me: Why?
BT guy: It just says been delayed
Me: It's been delayed for the last month. Is there a problem with setting up the line or something
BT guy: No problem, it's just been delayed
Me: Why couldn't you call me or tell me that it's been delayed?
BT guy: We tell customers when a problem but not when there been delayed.
Me: Ok i don't see that reasoning but can you tell me when i might get it.
Bt guy: It doesn't say how the long the delay is
Me: Well could you tell me if it gets delayed any longer
Bt guy: We will tell you if we run into any problems

BT is lazy and its delayed because they are lazy and haven't set it up.
