The Economist Wins again
I broke down and decided to re-subscribe to the economist again. I've had roughly a 4 month break and I think I'm ready to start reading it again. A few days there was a copy on the tube and I read it cover to cover.
The Economist is by far the best current events magazine but it can get very annoying. They are smug little bastards who hate to admit they are wrong but they tend to right a lot more then wrong. They brush things off too easier and make a person feel stupid for even thinking about that thing. But they are willing to laugh at themselves. My favorite example is the tv show The Simpsons made fun of The Economist in one show. Homer is in first class on a flight and is reading the Economist and says something like Hey Marge did you know that Indonesia is at a crossroads." In the next week Economist, one of their titles for an article is Indonesia at a crossroads. I don't think it was unintentional

I love the Economist too. I like the way they give a short history of the current situation and then sum up recent events and issues in just a few sentences.
And I think every article is pretty much "(Fill in country) at a Crossroads". This is their way of appearing more objective. Let's face it, "America at a Crossroads" sounds much more even-handed than ..."America going down the Tubes as Bush watches and giggles".
