Tour De France
In about 60 hours, the 2006 Tour De France will start and for three glorious weeks close to 200 cyclists will be trying to win, in my opinion, the hardest and most difficult sporting event in the world.
I consider this the hardest sporting event for one reason and one reason only. No average person could finish it. Take, for example, the marathon. It's hard to run 26 and everyone who does it deserves a lot of respect. But the average person could probably finish it. It might take them 10 hours or more but they can do it. But with the Tour, no average person could do it. Yes, probably some can do one day but to do it for three weeks.
I haven't predicted a winner yet. I will try and do it before Saturday.
Anyway, I will be up at the crack of dawn for the next three weeks watching the greatest annual sporting event.
